About Event

The ACA Committee of Management invites you to our annual conference, ACCESS 2024, which will be held online this year.

Join ACA at Access 2024, an online conference focused on accessibility and inclusivity, to engage, learn, and contribute to shaping a more accessible future for all!

Kick off the day with an Opening Address by Rosemary Kayess, the Australian Disability Discrimination Commissioner, who will highlight the importance of these issues today.

Dive into the first session with Mark Relf, Eric Martin, and Angela Roennfeldt as they discuss the proposed AS1428.6 – Fixtures and Fitments, exploring the scope and logic behind these essential standards. Next, Michael Small will present on the need for updates to the Guidelines on the Application of the Premises Standards, ensuring our regulations keep pace with changing needs.

After a short break, join Simon Thorne to discover innovative design strategies for spaces tailored for individuals living with dementia.

Following a lunch break and an afternoon featuring vital discussions on the DDA Public Transport Standard and reform with Adeline Bisson, Doug Melloh’s insights into the role of an access consultant and Hamish Murray and Farah Madon will discuss the necessity for AS4299 – Adaptable Housing.
