Access Consultant

I have been employed as an Access Consultant with Architecture & Access (A&A) since January 2023 and have developed my skills and experience with in-house and on the job training, providing experience in all aspects of access consultancy. My experience with A&A has included desktop audits of architectural plans ranging from concept stage to contract documentation stage, site audits of existing premises, site inspections (mid-construction and construction completion). Project variety has provided the opportunity for exposure to premises projects (schools, commercial offices, student accommodation) and transport projects (rollingstock, train stations, buses), both nationally and internationally. Prior to joining A&A in 2023, I was employed as a Project Manager in the transport sector, managing various projects including a rollingstock overhaul project, the scope of which included modifications and upgrades to achieve compliance with DSAPT2002. This exposure and experience was one source of inspiration for me to career pivot into access consulting. With my engineering and Project / Program Management experience, I possessed multiple transferrable core skills which have aided my transition to working in the access consultancy profession.
