A woman who uses a wheelchair complained to the then HREOC now the AHRC that the external lift call buttons on her local shopping Centre's central lift were inaccessible because they were too high. She could therefore not use the cafes, shops or entertainment on the upper floors of the Centre.
The Shopping Centre agreed to install accessible panels on all floors and the work has since been completed.
The then HREOC reported the complainant is delighted with the outcome.
