Guidelines for Proposers and Seconders for Applications for ACAA Membership
These Guidelines set down the obligations which members have when they act as a Proposer or Seconder for a person applying for membership (or for a change of membership class) of the Association.
1. A Proposer and Seconder must each sign the Applicant’s Application Form.
2. Both the Proposer and the Seconder must be financial accredited members of the Association.
3. Neither the Proposer nor Seconder can act as Referee for the Applicant.
4. Members who act as a Proposer or Seconder must, if asked to do so, be willing to discuss a membership application with the ACAA Membership Committee.
5. To propose or second an Applicant for the class of accredited member requires the Proposer and Seconder to know the Applicant in a professional capacity, and to have a good knowledge of their expertise and experience in the field of access for people with disabilities.
